My Story

Welcome to Calibrated Pathways! I’m so glad you are here. I'd love to share a little bit about myself and how I got here, so you can get a sense of who I am and how we might walk together on this important and meaningful path of deepening the parent-child relationship and raising children with intention—all while homeschooling.
I currently live in the vibrant and beautiful Silicon Valley and, with my husband's support, homeschool my 15 and 11-year-old boys.
This pursuit with Calibrated Pathways is not just a job to me, nor is it about getting the most clients. This is about what the Japanese refer to as finding your ikigai—the intersection of what the world needs, what one is skilled at, and what one is passionate about. This calling to create Calibrated Pathways, came out of a deep passion for wanting all children to have what I want for my own. Even if I help one child, one family—I could call this pursuit a success.
I didn't always dream of being a stay-at-home mom, and in my younger years, homeschooling certainly wasn't something I'd ever imagined doing. In 2000, I moved to the Silicon Valley as a young woman from Canada to pursue a career in tech. It was everything I'd imagined it would be—fast-paced, exciting, and I absolutely loved it. I was driven and had a flourishing career for nearly 12 years. During those years, I met my future husband, got married, and in 2010 we learned the joyous news that I was going to be a mom. Overnight, everything changed. I felt a deep knowing that nothing mattered more than the well-being of my child. Something inside of me awakened, and from that moment on, my tech career fell to the wayside and my life's purpose became about raising my children well—walking alongside them and guiding them to become deeply spiritual beings with good character who were raised with intention and thoughtfully educated.

As a family, we had to switch gears completely. I quit my job in the first month of my pregnancy, and we adjusted our finances to a single-income household. That came with a lot of sacrifices, fears, anxieties, and doubts. Who am I without a career? Is homeschooling the right option for us? Can I do this? How will I do this? As I leaned into motherhood and found mentors in other moms, things became clear. I began learning about intentional parenting, working on my own insecurities that kept me from being the best mom I could be, and constantly evolving to become more confident in my mothering and trust my intuition. Mentorship was also foundational to my homeschooling journey as I connected with veteran homeschooling mothers, taking it step by step.

Here's what I've come to understand through my own winding motherhood and homeschool path: that overwhelming feeling of anxiety and self-doubt often comes from a deeper place—the fear that we're not enough for our children.
And I'm here to tell you with certainty that you are enough.
You have intrinsic worth without any external accolades or high-power careers, and you have everything to offer your children, family, and community within you just waiting to be unlocked. In fact, they need your steady presence now more than ever in these turbulent times.
In my own life, I've seen again and again how the answers emerge when we have caring mentors, grow from our mistakes, see failure as a teacher, stay humble to our blindspots, truly see our children for who they are, and find confidence in our abilities while trusting the wisdom we already carry as their parents. Those parenting and homeschooling battles with our kids that exhaust us are usually telling us something important about what our child really needs. This is where I hope I can share what I've learned.
For many years, I've coached and mentored homeschooling families informally, 1:1, and in group workshop settings. The launch of Calibrated Pathways feels like a natural progression, and in this part of my homeschooling and parenting journey, I'm called to pay it forward. I'm called to mentor, guide, and walk alongside other mothers so they can learn to lean into their God-given intuition to carve out their own homeschooling and intentional parenting path. Mothering is one of the most impactful and deeply rewarding jobs in the world, and a homeschooling mother's path is one of the hardest. I pray that I can bring some encouragement and support to you through Calibrated Pathways.
